CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

If you need some last-minute items for Thanksgiving dinner, you'll likely be fighting the crowds at the grocery store to get them.

Dennis Marchi is a manager at Schnucks. He said if you need the Thanksgiving essentials, workers have places most items in plain view.

"So they don't have to look for it," Marchi said. "It's going to be right there at their location."

Marchi said come when it's the least crowded.

"The best time to come is in the morning and they can do their shopping. You can see here, the big items, celery, cranberries, brussel sprouts, those are the items that people are looking for," Marchi said. "We are still open for 24 hours and we are open tomorrow. So, if you forget something or have an extra party coming, we'll have the product."

He said there's no chance of them running out.

"We will have fresh product. We've got the turkeys, we've got fresh turkeys, we've got plenty of them," Marchi said. "We are very well-stocked so there will be no issue."

For shoppers in a hurry, Marchi said the store stocks pre-made pies for a quick grab.

"We have a variety of all kinds of pies. We have apple. We have cherry, peach, pumpkin, that's the great one, everybody wants to buy it," Marchi said. "We've got organic turkeys. People are really asking for those this year. We've got fresh turkey breasts. That's another one that people like so much. We've got just a variety of turkeys that they want and we have it."

One shopper said she came in to get a few items still left on her list.

"We are doing last minute shopping on just little stuff that we still need." Shelia Davis said. "[We are getting] just little odds and ends that we don't have. We knew it was going to be packed. Everybody's doing what we are doing."

Davis will have a house-full tomorrow and she wouldn't want it any other way.

"I have seven adult children and 27 grandkids and nine great-grand babies," Davis said.

Davis said after this last shopping trip she's got everything she needs for the perfect meal.

"I'm a down-home cooking woman so I've got everything ready to go," Davis said. "I just need to be home long enough to do it."
