Christmas tree sales spike week after Thanksgiving

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

It's the first week in December, and families around the valley are on the hunt for the perfect Christmas tree.

We caught up with Grantham's Christmas Tree Farm on Macon Road in Columbus to see just how busy they are. They have trees from four feet to 15 feet tall.

A worker with Grantham's tells us their busiest time is the weekend after Thanksgiving.

All the trees from Grantham's come from Sparta, N.C. Oregon produces the most Christmas trees each year and harvests about seven million yearly.

North Carolina comes in second with more than three million trees each year.
