Crews clean up $25,000 in damages at Jordan-Hare Stadium

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

Ground crews have some work to do at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium. Thousands of students and fans rushed onto the field Nov. 30 when Auburn beat Alabama in a thrilling finish.

Bradley Kirkland, a mower, says some of the Holly hedges on the sidelines may have to be replaced. Some sod on the field was damaged and needs to be repaired.

"We're checking out all the hedges. We're pruning them right now to see if we think they can come back or if they need to be replaced," says Kirkland.

The 25 second play clock was also damaged.

Eric Kleypas, Turf and Grounds Director, estimates there to be about $25,000 in damages in total.

But crews aren't complaining about the extra work. They say the win was worth it.
