DFCS workers accused of falsifying documents back on the job

Posted: Updated:
MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -

Two workers for the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services are back on the job after being arrested for falsifying documents at the Muscogee County DFCS Office in September 2012.

Phyllis Mitchell and Deborah Cobb were arrested after being accused of failing to investigate child abuse in a timely manner -- falsifying child abuse reports to make it appear they complied with federal guidelines -- and encouraging others to lie in sworn statements.

The two women have yet to be indicted.

The state says they plan to proceed with indictments by the end of the month.
