Wynnbrook Christian School students give back to community with annual Serv-a-thon

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

More than 100 students from Wynnbrook Christian School delivered food and clothing to Valley Rescue Mission today, Dec. 3.

The children, ranging from kindergartners to 8th graders, delivered bags and boxes of goods as part of Wynnbrook's annual Serv-a-thon. Each day during the event, kids give back to the community by helping a local charity.

Principal Angel Moore says the process teaches the children to serve others. "We want to have a sense of community. We are all a part of this community. To be able to step out, even at a young age, and lead by serving," she says.

Tomorrow, the students will be helping out at MercyMed, and Thursday's local charity will be Mission Columbus.
