FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) -

The annual 250-foot airborne tower lighting ceremony took place on Thursday, Dec. 5, at Eubanks Field, and they are expecting a very special guest to stop by.

The 34-foot towers opened at 3 p.m., and  Santa's Castle will be collecting donations of new toys for children of Fort Benning families ages newborn to 18-years-old.

The band began playing at 5 p.m., and the countdown to throwing the switch for the 250-foot jump towers covered in Christmas lights began at 5:25 p.m.

This 1st Battalion (Airborne), 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment event is open to the public.
