Cold, damp weather did not stop some wounded warrior supporters from participating in a charity ride across the Chattahoochee Valley today, Dec. 7.

The ride began at the Drop Zone Plaza in Fort Mitchell, Ala., and paraded to the Chattahoochee Harley Davidson in Columbus, Ga. It was all part of a benefit to raise money for charities that help wounded warriors on both a national level, and here at Fort Benning.

"Wounded Warrior Project is an organization that helps soldiers who suffer from mental disabilities like PTSD, amputees, anybody who's injured," says Raynard Charfauros, Events Manager at Drop Zone Plaza. "We have a few customers that come through that are amputees.  That's actual what inspired me to do something for them."

Back at the Drop Zone, families enjoyed a barbeque and activities for the kids.

Charfauros says they intend to make the fundraiser an annual event.
