Five Gamecocks make AP All-SEC team

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Four defensive players and one player on offense were named to the Associated Press All-SEC team on Monday.

It should be no surprise, but junior defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and junior defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles were named to the first team.

This is Clowney's third straight appearance on the team. According to the athletics department, Clowney finished the year with 10.5 tackles for loss, 35 tackles on the year to go along with a forced fumble, a pair of pass breakups, three sacks, and eight quarterback hurries.

Quarles had a breakout year this season with 13.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks.

Both are expected to enter the upcoming NFL Draft.

On the second team, sophomore running back Mike Davis was named behind Auburn's Tre Mason and LSU's Jeremy Hill. Davis ran for over 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns on the year.

As for second team defense, junior cornerback Victor Hampton and Sharrod Golightly were also named.

The Gamecocks head to Orlando for the Capital One Bowl on Jan. 3, 2014.
