COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A trio of shoplifters were arrested on Dec. 7 at the Dilliard's at Peachtree Mall, and they are raising eyebrows not because of their crime but because of their relation.
In addition to being accused of shoplifting, a Columbus mother is also accused of involving her daughter and her daughter's friend.
Police responded to the scene after someone reported three women were trying to steal about $250 worth of merchandise. According to official sources, Regena Howard was attempting to sneak those items out of the store with the help of her 16-year-old daughter and her daughter's friend.
Police caught them before they escaped. They were arrested at the scene.
