LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) -

A third teen is behind bars for the armed robbery of a woman at her home in LaGrange. Police have arrested 17-year-old Clentaevias Smith in Manchester, Ga.

According to investigators, three males broke into a home in the 100 block of Addie St. just before midnight Tuesday and robbed the resident at gunpoint. Officers arrived as the crime was in progress.

The suspects fled in a vehicle and a police became engaged in a short pursuit.  During the chase, one of the accused men fired at least one shot.  It has not yet been determined whether that bullet was intended for police.

"Well it's my understanding that one round was discharged but it's unknown at this point whether the discharge as intentional or not. Right now, we're working under the assumption that a home invasion took place and that obviously a firearm was discharged, but as the investigation continues we'll be able to sort all that out," said Lt. Mark Kostial of the LaGrange police department.

The fleeing car, a small green sedan, crashed in the woods near St. Peters shortly after the pursuit began.

"As soon as we located the suspects' vehicle, it went a short distance through some of our interior streets we have in LaGrange. At the conclusion of that pursuit the vehicle wrecked behind the Catholic church here at the intersection of Morgan St. and Lafayette Pkwy," said Lt. Kostial.

Police immediately arrested one man in the car and another was caught trying to run away on foot. Lakevius Martin, 19 and Jarel Farley, 17 are now in jail. Police searched the suspects' car and found weapons and other contraband.
