A preliminary hearing has been set for the woman accused of shooting another woman after an Iron Bowl party.

Adrian Briskey, 28, of Birmingham is charged in the shooting death of Michelle Shepherd, 36, of Birmingham. Briskey is scheduled to face a judge Jan. 8, 2014. Briskey is out on bond.

Police say Briskey killed Shepherd in the parking lot of the Summerchase at Riverchase Apartments in Hoover.

Police say both women were attending an Iron Bowl party at the Summercase at Riverchase apartment complex in Hoover on Saturday, Nov. 30. They did not know each other prior to the party, according to officials.

Authorities say Briskey and Shepherd got into an argument after the game and the fight moved into the parking lot near the 1600 building. Briskey allegedly shot Shepherd with a small caliber handgun just after 7 p.m. Witnesses say Shepherd was shot three times.

Shepherd died in the parking lot and Briskey was taken into custody at the scene.

Friends say Shepherd was a neutral fan when it came to the Iron Bowl, but was an avid fan of the Miami Heat basketball team.

Her sister says that she leaves behind three children, ages 8, 6 and 4. D-1 Training and Fitness is organizing a toy drive for the children.
