Update: Charges against Muscogee Co. Deputy Marshal have been reinstated

(WTVM) -

Charges against Muscogee County Deputy Marshal Alicia Davenport have been reinstated as of Dec. 13, according to Judge Frank Jordan.

These charges were previously dismissed by the Municipal Court, but Judge Jordan stated that only the Superior Court has the authority to do so.

On Oct. 28, 2013 Davenport allegedly almost ran over another officer with her police car.

Before the incident occurred, Davenport was collecting information from the scene of an accident near Forest Rd. and Wellborn Dr. in Columbus. A second officer arrived and assumed authority of the scene. According to officials, Davenport felt that she was being ignored and went to her patrol car, angry.

The second officer walked to the front of Davenport's car to speak with her. Davenport drove through the officer's path, forcing himself to move out of the way to prevent injury.

That officer reported the incident and submitted a report about a possible injury.

After a warrant was issued for her arrest, Davenport turned herself in to the Muscogee County Jail.

The GBI investigated the case and she was charged with reckless conduct, a misdemeanor.
