Convenience store clerk in Andalusia assaulted

Police say a convienence store clerk was assaulted after closing the store.

Andalusia Police Investigators say between 11:00 and 11:30 p.m. Friday at the Stop-n-Go convenience store, at the intersection of MLK Jr. Expressway and 6th Avenue, they reported to a call of a possible robbery attempt, assault and theft of an Apple Ipad.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers found the victim who reported two hooded male subjects attempted to rob him of a backpack. After a struggle the suspects made off with an Apple Ipad.

No money was reported stolen during the incident and the clerk did not seek medical attention.

No other information is known at this time as police continue to investigate.
