TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

An audio recording released last week recounts the final moments before 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots were killed fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire last summer.

The audio and accompanying video were released by the Arizona State Forestry Division on Friday. The audio recording was captured on a camera mounted on the helmet of a firefighter in a different crew who was a safe distance away.

The Granite Mountain crew had been communicating with operations and air command (code named Bravo 33).

The crew's last transmission was an explanation from "Division Alpha" that the fire was closing in.

The audio comes from the Serious Accident Investigation team's report on the fire, which concluded poor communications contributed to the deaths of the nineteen firefighters.
