MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The fire that destroyed the Danville Fire Department was ruled arson, according to the Alabama State Fire Marshal's Office.

The fire started around 6:40 a.m. Friday at the department located on Highway 157. Several agencies responded to the fire. Portions of the highway were closed while firefighters ran hoses across the road to fight the fire.

No one was injured in the blaze, but a fire engine and an ambulance were destroyed.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the fire to call the Alabama Arson Hotline at 1-800-654-0775 or contact the State Fire Marshal's Office at www.firemarshal.alabama.gov.
