Ordinary wood logs burning in a fireplace or important piece of cinematic history?

Netflix put a twist on the familiar burning fireplace on television and released a trailer to gear up for its availability on the streaming service.

The trailer starts out to look like a preview to a dramatic film with slow camera movements and a heavy-voiced narrator.

The short clip then intertwines supposed reviews, which the viewer can tell isn't supposed to be taken seriously.

"I cried when the fire spread to the other log," a review by Margaret Lanterman read.

"Guaranteed to get you to second base," promised Bertram Weeks.

And, to put it plainly, Bert describes the picture "about a fireplace in your home."

Going a step further, Netflix provided a behind the scenes reel attached to the tongue-in-cheek trailer for Fireplace For Your Home.

In the two-minute look at making the film about wood burning, a director named Director explains the meticulous process of finding the right logs for the feature.

At one point when Director is given one log for consideration, he declines to use the wood saying, "I don't want to work on it. I want to find the right piece of wood we were supposed to start with in the first place."

He subsequently chucks the rejected piece of wood.

The history of airing video of a wood-burning fireplace for the holidays dates back to the 1960s when a TV station in New York provided the programming for those who don't have fireplaces.

Fireplace For Your Home is currently available on Netflix.
