Posted: Updated:

The Montgomery Biscuits will be making a managerial change for the first time in seven years.

Biscuits Manager Billy Gardner Jr., is moving up to the Triple-A level but not with the Tampa Bay Rays Organization.

Gardner has been named the manager of the Syracuse Chiefs -- the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

Gardner has managed the Biscuits from 2007-2013 posting a record of 497-475. He led the Biscuits to the 2007 Southern League Title. He was also named the Southern League Manager of the Year in 2012.

Gardner told WSFA 12 News today that he enjoyed his seven years in Montgomery and wishes the Biscuits nothing but the best.
