A 22-year-old DeRidder man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder in connection with a Wednesday night stabbing, authorities said.

Beauregard Parish Sheriff Sheriff Ricky Moses said Joshua Deans, who was arrested Dec. 19 on a theft charge, has been accused of stabbing another person during a domestic disturbance in DeRidder. Moses said the victim was transported to a Shreveport hospital and is expected to recover.

Deans' bond has been set at $750,000.

 

Vinton man accused of rape, sexual battery

A 53-year-old Vinton man is facing multiple sex crime charges, according to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Jose A. Martinez was arrested Sunday morning by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and charged with three counts of sexual battery and one count of aggravated rape.

Bond was set at $145,000.

 

Car chase leads to arrest

An 18-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with motor vehicle theft, aggravated flight and resisting an officer, city police said.

Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said Rashaun Natavius Mayne was arrested Monday after stealing a car and running from officers.

"On Monday, Officer Tony Magee responded to a report of an auto theft in the 1000 block of 9th Street," Kraus said. "Approximately three hours later, Officer Magee observed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop but (Mayne) refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit."

Kraus said Mayne was apprehended by city officers after abandoning the vehicle in the 900 block of Sycamore Street.

 

Sex offender arrested in Sulphur

A 24-year-old Sulphur man has been charged with failure to register as a sex offender, according to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

James Joseph Domingue was arrested Friday morning. He remained in jail Monday on a $2,000 bond.

Domingue, who was also charged with failure to register in April 2013, was convicted of simple rape in August 2011.

 

Lake Area men facing DWI charges

Two Southwest Louisiana men were arrested this weekend on DWI charges, according to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Jorge Luis Castillo, 30, of Lake Charles, was arrested Saturday morning while driving on Nelson Road. He was charged with fourth-offense DWI and released Sunday after posting a $40,000 bond.

Lance Alan Rogers, 26, of DeQuincy, was arrested early Saturday morning while driving on La. 1256. He was charged with third-offense DWI and careless operation. He was released later in the day on a $5,250 bond.

 

Arrest Reports

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office reported the following arrests:

• Kendell Detron Sample, 34, Vinton: motor vehicle theft, simple criminal damage to property $500 to $50,000, domestic abuse battery by strangulation. Bond: $260,000.

• Eldon Ray Gaspard, 31, Westlake: domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, simple criminal damage to property under $500. Bond: $80,000.

• Reginald Dwight Reado, 38, Lake Charles: drug possession with intent to distribute, obstruction of justice, resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of public passage. Bond: $61,000.

• Brianna Alyce Perry, 24, Sulphur: marijuana possession with intent to distribute, drug possession. Bond: $40,000.

• Alex Tremaine Dennis, 36, Lake Charles: simple criminal damage to property $500 to $50,000, disturbing the peace. Bond: $35,000.

• Justin Michael Hilton, 27, Lake Charles: two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, drug possession. Bond: $30,000.

• Terence Dwayne Davis, 22, Lake Charles: two counts of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, domestic abuse battery, aggravated criminal damage to property. Bond: $25,000.

• Karlneilous Coleman, 40, Lake Charles: simple robbery, theft over $1,500, misrepresenting during booking, driving with a suspended license. Bond: $21,600.

• Brandon Scott Guillory, 17, Lake Charles: two counts of simple burglary, first-offense marijuana possession, drug possession and two counts of theft under $500. Bond: $21,500.

• Eric Maurice Bledsoe, 34, Lake Charles: domestic abuse battery. Bond: $20,000.

• Brandon Joseph Lebouef, 26, Vinton: two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute. Bond: $18,000.

• Whitney Wynette Garrick, 27, Lake Charles: drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, pedestrians on highways or interstate. Bond: $13,000.

• Harley David Moser II, 34, Bossier City: simple burglary, theft $500 to $1,500, drug possession. Bond: $11,000.

• Shawn Paul Oakman, 39, Sulphur: attempt and conspiracy. Bond: $10,000.

• Walter Lee Lewis, 29, Sulphur: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, second-offense marijuana possession.

 

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office reported the following arrests:

• Margai Bass, Merryville: felony theft. Bond: $129,000.

• Jeremy Deason, 37, Rosepine: aggravated burglary, theft of a firearm, felony theft. Bond: $110,000.

• Joshua Deans, 22, DeRidder: felony theft: Bond: $85,000.

• Matthew Stevenson, 17, DeQuincy: burglary of an inhabited dwelling, theft, criminal conspiracy. Bond: $80,000.

• Michael Hoskey, 38, DeRidder: felony theft. Bond: $50,000.

• Demarkquarius Watts, 17, DeRidder: simple burglary, theft, theft of a firearm. Bond: $31,000.

• Dakota Yarbrough, 20, Fort Polk: simple burglary, theft. Bond: $25,000.

• Thomas Latham, 40, Merryville: unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling. Bond: $15,000.
