Man shot, suspect wanted after altercation at Waffle House

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A man was shot twice at a Waffle House restaurant on Manchester Expy. after he got into an altercation with another customer. The incident happened at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.

What began as a verbal altercation soon turned violent when the suspect took out a gun. Following a struggle, the suspect hit the other customer on the head with the gun, discharging it. He was shot in the chest with the gun went off.

When the customer tried to run away, the suspect shot him in the leg.

The suspect escaped in a black Ford Mustang with red racing stripes. The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect is a black male in his 20's with a medium complexion. He is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs between 170 and 180 lbs. He was wearing a white shirt and dark pants at the time of the incident. He has dread locks with blond tips.
