COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Holiday sweets and treats have taunted the best of us this holiday season. Traveling can keep you from the gym, or make you take a break from healthy eating and exercise. If you want to bounce back to your pre-holiday routine, don't worry.

There are a few easy exercises that can be done anywhere. If you are staying in a hotel or family member's house, consider doing squats, lunges, push-ups, and crunches. They don't require a gym membership or fancy equipment. If you're feeling up to it, you can even try planks and squat jumps.

The magic numbers to remember when exercising are 3 and 15. Doing 3 sets of 15 reps for each exercise can help get you back into shape.

Keeping a food diary also helps. Diaries help you visualize what you're eating and how much. Seeing this will help you make better choices and eat less.

"You had your sugar, you've had your sweets and now it's time to get up and get moving. One thing that I do and that everyone should do, whether they're disciplined or not, is carry a diary, a food diary. Start writing down everything you eat," says Amity Norton, a Personal trainer at Snap Fitness.

Drinking water is also very important. Amity says when your body is dehydrated it can make you feel hungry.

"If you're craving something but you've already eaten in the past couple hours...drink a full 8 to 10 ounce glass of water and see if it goes away," says Norton.

If you still want a snack, eat crunchy raw vegetables like carrots, celery, and broccoli. Following these simple tips can help keep you get back to your pre-holiday weight and stay on track.
