PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

A grandmother accused of giving her granddaughter cocaine and pills to help frame her father pleaded guilty Thursday to a reduced charge of attempting to involve a child in a drug offense.

Sanjuanita Carabajal, 58, of Ferris, TX, was planning for the 9-year-old girl to tell school officials she found the drugs at her father's house, according to police.

Defense attorney Melinda Kovacs declined to comment after Carabajal made the guilty plea.

Police said Carabajal wanted to frame her son-in-law so she could get full custody of the little girl.

Gilbert police said Carabajal gave the child several packets containing 4 grams of cocaine and told her where to put them in her father's vehicle.
