Suspected robbers tied up by victim during break-in

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Two suspected robbers were met with a big surprise when they allegedly broke into a home in south Columbus.

Police say Steven Hammock and Melissa Patterson broke into an apartment on Gilbert Ave. and tried to rob a man at gunpoint.

The victim was able to tie up the suspects with the help of his friends until police arrived.

No injuries were reported.

Hammock and Patterson were charged with attempted robbery.
