Lee Co., TCC, Cook appeals denied by GHSA

THOMASTON, GA (WALB) -

Alignment appeals by three south Georgia schools have been denied by the Georgia High School Association.

Representatives from Lee County, Thomas County Central, and Cook all met with GHSA Reclassification Committee in Thomaston Tuesday to appeal decisions about the school's region alignment.

All three schools' appeals were denied.

Lee County will stay in AAAAAA, and play in Region 1.

Thomas County Central will continue to play football in Region 1-AAAAA, while all other sports will drop down to AAAA.

Cook will move up to AAAA. The Hornets were classified in AAA, but were isolated and moved up to Region 1-AAAA.
