CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Several patients at Carolinas Medical Center – Mercy had to be moved to other rooms after a sprinkler line break Wednesday evening.

According to officials, the line broke around 6 p.m. on the fifth floor. Firefighters with the Charlotte Fire Department responded to help with the cleanup.

Eight patients were moved to other rooms within the building, but none needed to be moved out of the hospital, officials told WBTV.

As a precaution, CMC-Mercy says they will not be accepting any new patients until the line is fixed.
