COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Mario's Restaurant and Pub is in hot water with the mayor and city attorney due to multiple violations that occurred in the club starting last November.
In November 2013, they received a citation for overcrowding and reckless conduct. Another overcrowding citation was also issued in December. That same day, a patron at Mario's was shot in a nearby parking lot following an altercation that took place inside the restaurant.
The city attorney's office also says the downtown restaurant and bar has violated the city's fire code.
The letter goes on to say, "These violations of law which have occurred at your establishment may subject your business license to suspension of revocation..."
The Columbus Police Chief, Fire Chief, and Finance Director will continue to monitor the restaurant.
