TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call from a female who stated she had shot somebody because she was being stabbed.

According to Pinal County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tim Gaffney, deputies arrived at the residence in the 800 block of Evergreen Road in Oracle.

Deputies searched the residence for the shooting victim and discovered both the adult female victim the woman they describe as the shooter in the dining room.

The victim was lying on her back and the other woman was kneeling over her.

The victim was given CPR by deputies until medical personnel arrived at the home and took over. The victim was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The other woman was identified as Leanor Guitard, 55.

Deputies seized a .357 Smith and Wesson revolver which they say Guitard used to shoot the victim.

According to the Sheriff's office, Guitard told deputies the victim was breaking into Guitard's house and she allegedly shot her. Guitard also told deputies that the victim was beating her, and that they were friends.

Guitard did not have any signs of physical injuries nor were any knives found around the victim, according to authorities.

Guitard was booked into the Pinal County Jail and faces one count of negligent homicide.
