(CNN) - It's flu season, and the CDC reports the flu is widespread in most of the country right now.
High levels of flu activity are expected to continue for the next several weeks. So if you haven't gotten your vaccination yet, get one now.
Flu season is unpredictable, but it could last until May and it takes two to three weeks for the antibodies to build up in your system to protect you. So the earlier you get it, the better.
In the meantime, keep yourself healthy by washing your hands, getting plenty of sleep, drinking lots of water and eating healthy. It boosts your immune system.
And stay away from people who are sick.
That said, experts say a flu vaccination is really the best way to protect yourself. So if you haven't already, go get that flu shot.
