COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Cleveland Farley, the 18-year-old Spencer High School student accused of hitting a man and dragging him for more than a mile, then leaving the scene, was in Recorder's Court today, Jan. 15. He is facing a number of charges including Serious Injury by Vehicle, and Reckless Driving.

Attorney Stacey Jackson is representing Farley in the case, and questioned the reckless driving charge in the court appearance.

According to the Judge, Farley has several prior charges on his record.

The victim allegedly dragged by Farley's van has been identified as Tommy Jackson. His father says he is still in bad shape. Doctors had to amputate Jackson's arm as a result of the accident.

Columbus Police said Farley was on his way home from wrestling practice when he allegedly hit Jackson while making an illegal left turn. Farley then went home and told his mother that he hit someone.

Farley was given a bond that exceeded $50,000.
