WPD arrest four wanted by FBI and in other cities

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Officers with the Wilmington Police Department took four people into custody Wednesday night who were wanted in Greensboro and by the FBI.

According to police, officers came across a suspicious vehicle around 11 p.m. on Stradleigh Road in Wilmington.

Officers said the driver of the vehicle was very nervous when they stopped the car.

The officials ran their names through the system and learned they were wanted in other cities of North Carolina.

The following people were arrested and charged:

Madison Howlett

  • felony conspiracy
  • driving with no license
  • speeding
  • obtaining property by false pretense
  • exploiting elderly

Brian Wayne Gurganus

  • obtaining property by false pretense
  • felony conspiracy (four counts)
  • exploiting elderly (two counts)

Chelsey Rose

  • failure to appear
  • misdemeanor larceny warrants

Lindsey Leann Cole

  • felony failure to appear (three counts)
  • probation violation (three count)
  • felony possession of cocaine
