SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A Night Stalker was killed and two were injured late Wednesday night when a Blackhawk helicopter made a "hard landing" at Hunter Army Airfield.

The incident happened at 11:24 p.m. when a 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment MH-60 Blackhawk tried landing during routine training at Hunter, according to a news release from Fort Campbell.

A representative for the unit said the two hospitalized soldiers are expected to recover and are in good condition at Fort Stewart's Winn Army Hospital.

The family of the Night Stalker killed has been notified, and his name is expected to be released Friday afternoon. 

The crew consisted of two pilots and one crewmembers, all male. It has not been made known whether one of the two pilots or the crew member that died in the landing. 

An investigation into the incident is underway by the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center.
