HARRIS COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - Students at Harris County Carver Middle School got a glimpse into the future Thursday morning.
7th graders got to see what kind of jobs they could have at a career fair-expo.
More than a dozen businesses and organizations set up in the gym this morning. Everyone from firefighters to book authors to hair and makeup stylists was there to share with the kids their knowledge of the work world.
News Leader 9's Barbara Gauthier was among those invited to talk about what it's like to be a TV news anchor. She said she was very impressed with the kids, who had some great questions.
Organizers say career fairs like these really inspire students, and career education teacher Frankie Mabrey called today's career fair a big success. She said she hopes to hold a similar fair for 8th graders soon.
