The jury has returned a guilty verdict in the murder trial of Darien Meheux. They deliberated for just under 3 hours after being charged by the judge.
Meheux was accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend and Valdosta State University student Jasmine Benjamin in Georgia Hall on the VSU campus in November of 2012.
Benjamin's mother, along with a Valdosta Police investigator, two GBI forensics experts, and another GBI agent who worked the case have given testimony in court.
