GA House passes bill to move state primary elections

House members in the GeorgiaAssembly voted today, Jan. 17, on the resolution to move Georgia primaryelections to May 20.

Senate passed the billearlier this week, and today's House vote passed 159 to one.

The move has been expectedafter a federal judge's ruling last year moved up Georgia's Federal primary toallow for more time for military and overseas ballots in runoff situations. Anyrunoff would be scheduled for July 22.

The bill is now on theGovernor's desk.
