EAST FELICIANA PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Two adults and a child managed to escape harm from a fire that broke out around 2 a.m. Friday.

It happened in a rural part of East Feliciana Parish on Barnes Lane. The Bluff Creek Fire Department responded to the fire and around 25 firefighters were called out.

The home is considered a total loss, but thankfully the family was able to get out safely.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire and the American Red Cross is now helping the family.

Officials say heavy snow was coming down at the time of the fire and thick snow was on the ground.
