Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan confirms 56-year-old John Johnson died of a heart attack while driving his pick up truck.

It happened on JR Allen pkwy at Gateway Rd. around 5:30 p.m. yesterday, Jan 24. Witnesses say Johnson was sitting at a red light when his truck just started rolling.

"It rolled down an embankment, and ended up against a pine tree," says Bryan. "I talked to his supervisor who says he was a good worker, a hard man, and a family man."

Although the car did hit a tree, the Coroner confirms Johnson died of natural causes before the crash happened.  Eastbound traffic on JR Allen was backed up as lanes were closed to clear the scene.
