2 arrested, 1 wanted in connection to Super 8 Motel murder

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The Columbus Police Department has arrested two in connection to the murder of Troy Saunders.

Niesha Jones, 17, and Mayson Gibson, 20, are charged with murder, aggravated assault, and criminal attempt armed robbery.

There will be a Recorders Court hearing on Monday, Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. The suspects waived their appearance in court and are being held without bond.

They have also obtained warrants for the arrest of 19-year-old Christopher Wommack. He is a black male standing at 5'11" tall and weighs 172 lbs.  He is wanted for murder, criminal attempt armed robbery, and aggravated assault.

Wommack is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is asked to call the Columbus Police Department at 706-653-3400.

Saunders was found inside a 2000 Buick in front of Gentian Boulevard early Friday morning. He was pronounced dead at 1:10 a.m. by the coroner.
