Columbus woman killed in drive by shooting


Detectives are searching for suspects after 47-year-old Marvine Bailey was gunned down on Forsyth St. during a drive by shooting that happened yesterday, Jan. 25, around 7:45 p.m., according to officials. 

Deputy Coroner Charles Newton says Bailey was walking from her uncle's house to her mother's house on Forsyth St. when a group of people started shooting randomly from a moving vehicle. The victim attempted to run, but was struck once in the chest. 

Bailey was pronounced dead at the Medical Center Emergency Room around 8:19 p.m.

This is the second homicide of the year in Columbus. 

The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information should contact the Columbus Police Department, or call 911.
