Secondary roads still need work after snow storm

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Secondary roads all throughout our area are still snow-covered as the temperatures begin to dip for another cold night.

After the snow falls, it's the getting on with life that gets tough.

"I actually walked to work this morning," said Haley Keene, "And the sidewalks actually hadn't been walked too much yet. There was a lot of bumpiness."

"Nothing major, but I've seen a few people slide off the roads as I was coming through the fan," added driver, Frank Wrapp.

Most people we talked to reported safe driving on major roads, but many said there were still slippery situations on side, or secondary, roads.

It was a similar story in Chesterfield County and Henrico County.

If you're looking for a laugh this snow day, Richmond's Snow Plow Status Map said: "There are no currently active snow events. Please check back after it starts snowing"

"It looks like it has here," said Drew Tenser. "Where are the plows in the Fan? Do you see any? Not yet. I don't see any yet. You'd think they should have come last night."

A spokesperson for the city assured us the plows are on the roads, and this was just a glitch in the system.
