COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The bond hearing for one of the four murder suspects in Columbus' first homicide of 2014 has been postponed until Monday, Feb. 3, due to a conflict of interest.

Defense attorneys Stacey Jackson and Richard Hagler work at the same law firm, and were unaware that they were both representing co-defendants in the case. Jackson is currently representing Trevon Brown, 19. Hagler is representing Niesha Jones, 17, and Mayson Gibson, 20, who both waived their initial court appearnance. However, it is illegal for two attorneys from the same firm to represent co-defendants in the same case.

Jackson says he will work with the Brown family to find new counsel for Brown, who does not want to have the same counsel as the other two defendants. He says they may intend to testify against each other.

The three suspects are charged with the murder of 39-year-old Troy Saunders who was found shot to death inside of a 2000 Buick in the early hours of Friday, Jan. 24. Police say the shooting occurred at the Super 8 Motel on Warm Springs Rd., and the victim was found blocks away near the Burger King on Gentian Blvd.

A fourth suspect in the case, 19-year-old Christopher Wommack, is still at large. Wommack is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is asked to call the Columbus Police Department at 706-653-3400.
