PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The Arizona Department of Transportation said motorists can expect a slow Wednesday morning on southbound Interstate 17 after a vehicle fire at Dunlap Avenue.

Crews closed the southbound lanes about 6:30 a.m., creating a three-mile backup in less than 10 minutes. The HOV and left two lanes were reopened at Dunlap about 6:45 a.m., but the backup continued to Thunderbird Road, according to ADOT's Twitter feed.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials said no one was hurt.

ADOT recommended southbound motorists consider alternate routes and that long delays could be expected through the rush hour.
