2 jailed after heroin, meth found during Globe traffic stop

GLOBE, AZ (CBS5) -

Two women were in jail after Gila County sheriff's deputies said they found heroin and methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Globe on Tuesday.

Sadie Corinne Smith, of Tucson, and Alexandria Marie Mabbitt, of Globe, were stopped by the Gila County Drug, Gang and Violent Crimes Task Force and sheriff's deputies.

A search uncovered 3.6 grams of heroin, about 2 grams of methamphetamine and numerous items of drug paraphernalia, according to a sheriff's office news release.

They were arrested and booked into the Gila County Jail on charges of possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a narcotic drug for sale, transportation of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a dangerous drug for sale, transportation of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia and money laundering.

Bond was set at $135,000 each.
