PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Three men are in custody on charges of assaulting an alleged drug dealer in Phoenix Saturday afternoon, a court document said.

Authorities said the victim was going to sell the men 100 pounds of marijuana. When the alleged dealer entered the home at 6921 W. Verde Lane, the men held him around the throat, pulled out guns, put them to his head and struck him several times with their fists, according to a probable cause statement.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office detectives arrived at the home and rescued the victim, who was taken to the hospital.

Detectives said they told the men to leave the house with their hands up. Instead, the men fled the residence and ran south on Thomas Road.

A perimeter was set up and authorities saw two of the men running through heavy brush. They again issued commands to stop.

A Phoenix police helicopter was mobilized and helped locate all three suspects, who were hiding in the brush.

Kendall Pride, 38, and Dion Colter, 24, invoked their right to remain silent,

The other man, Jason Ellis, 29, claimed no knowledge of the incident.

All three men are from Phoenix. They were booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and possessing and using a weapon in a drug offense.
