Car burglaries caught on camera

Police are investigating several reports of car burglaries in a Phoenix neighborhood near 35th Avenue and Cactus Road. One victim, Morgan Riley, caught the crime on tape with his security cameras last week.

"I would like to see these guys caught," Riley said. "It looked like they were enjoying what they were doing and they left the dome lights on in the vehicles as kind of a badge of honor."

Some of Riley's neighbors woke up the next morning with the dome lights on in their cars and items left in those vehicles were reported missing. Riley says the thieves took off with electronics and his only pair of prescription sunglasses.

"I just hate to be victimized like that," Riley said. "It makes you mad that somebody would take your money like that and probably feel no remorse."

While a pair of burglars were rummaging through Riley's Jeep, security video shows a third suspect break into a neighbor's car, leaving the lights on inside.

Police say in each case, the cars were left unlocked and locking your car doors drastically reduces the risk of car burglaries.
