Alexander City Schools (Ala.) - CLOSED Thursday

Auburn City Schools - CLOSED Thursday

Auburn University - Classes canceled Thursday, Feb. 13. Will resume normal operations and classes at 5 p.m. Thursday. Tiger Transit will not operate Thursday.

Bonnie's Kids Child Care Center (Opelika) - opens at 9 a.m.

Chambers County Schools - closed Thursday, Feb. 13

Childcare Network - DELAYED OPENING at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Chattahoochee Valley Community College - Classes will resume at 9 a.m. Feb. 13.

Doodlebugs Learning Academy - will open at 9 a.m. Thursday Feb. 13

Glenwood School - opening 11 a.m. Thursday.

God's Little Lambs (Opelika) - Opening at 9 a.m. Thursday Feb. 13.

Growing Room (Auburn) - Open at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.

Head Start in Lee and Russell Counties - will be closed on Thursday Feb. 13.

Joyland Child Development Center (Auburn) - closed Thursday.

Lanett City Schools - CLOSED Thursday, Feb. 13.

Lee County Schools - will be closed on Thursday,  Feb 13, due to inclement weather and potentially hazardous road conditions throughout Lee County.

Opelika City Schools - CLOSED Thursday, Feb. 13.

Phenix City Schools - TWO HOUR DELAY Thursday, Feb. 13.

Russell County Schools - DELAYED until 10:00 a.m. for students on Thursday, Feb. 13. Buses running 90 minutes later than usual. Employees report to work at 9:30 a.m.

St. Joseph Child Development Center (Russell Co.) - 2 Hour Delay Thursday, Feb. 13. Opening at 10 a.m.

Tallapoosa County Schools - CLOSED Thursday.


Calvary Christian School - will delay all school start times by two hours on Thursday, February 13th.  Early drop off times and start times will be delayed by 2 hours.  School will end at normal time.  All after school practices and activities will be conducted as planned, unless otherwise notified.

Chattahoochee County Schools - CLOSED Thursday, Feb. 13.

Childcare Network - DELAYED OPENING at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Fort Benning - All Fort Benning schools closed Thursday, Feb. 13.

Friendship Child Care Services - DELAYED until 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Georgia Southwestern State University - delayed open until 11 a.m. Thursday Feb. 13. Georgia Southwestern State University's Pre-K program will also open at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.

Growing Room (Columbus) - opens at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Harris County Schools - closed Thursday, Feb. 13.

Hallie Turner Private School - Open at 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Jitterbug Learning Academy - delayed until 9 a.m. Thursday Feb 13

Kingdom Christian Academy - CLOSED Thursday Feb. 13. School will resume Tuesday Feb. 18 after Winter Break

LaGrange College - will open at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lasseter Academy - opens at 10 a.m. Thursday Feb. 13

Lighthouse Christian Academy - will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday

Marion County Schools - closed Thursday for students and employees.

Marion County Head Start/Early Head Start - CLOSED Thursday Feb. 13

Meriwether County Schools – CLOSED Thursday, Feb. 13.

Miller Mott Technical College - DELAYED Thursday until 10:30 a.m. for students, faculty and staff.

Muscogee County Schools - TWO HOUR DELAY on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Nursery Rhymes Child Care - opens at 8 a.m.

Point University (West Point, East Point, Peachtree City locations) - CLOSED Thursday.

Polka Dots Child Development Center - Will open at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Rivertown School of Beauty - no night classes Wednesday, Feb. 12. Students report to school Thursday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. Faculty arrive at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Rising Stars Child Development Center (Cataula) - Delayed opening Thursday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m.

Schley County Schools - closed Thursday for all students, teachers and staff. All 12 month employees are to report at 10 am.

Southland Academy (Americus, Ga.) - delayed start time at 10 a.m. Thursday Feb. 13. Students are to report to classes at 10 a.m. They will have a regular school day from that point until the end of the day. Teachers will be on duty at 9:45 a.m.

Southern Crescent Technical College – Closed Thursday, Feb. 13.

All three Starbucks in Columbus will be closing at 8 pm on Wednesday night. They are tentatively planning on opening at 8 am on Thursday morning, as the weather permits.

Spirit Filled Academy - delayed opening at 9 a.m. Thursday Feb. 13

St. Luke School, ELC and Preschool - will delay opening Thursday, Feb. 13 until 10 a.m. for all students/children.  Staff should report at 9:30 a.m.

Stewart County Schools - Closed Thursday, Feb. 13.

Talbot County Schools - Closed Thursday, Feb. 13.

Taylor County Schools - Closed Thursday, Feb. 13.

Thomaston-Upson County Schools and Central Office – closed Thursday, Feb. 13 due to the threat of icy roads and dangerous travel conditions. All afternoon and evening activities on Thursday are also canceled.

Tri-Co. Head Start/Early Head Start Child Development Center - closed on Thursday Feb. 13 due to current weather conditions. The center will resume regular hours on Friday Feb. 14.

Troup County Schools - will close Thursday, February 13, 2014 for all students, faculty, and staff. All after school activities are canceled. Students and district personnel should return to school on Friday, February 14, 2014

Virginia College (Columbus) - CLOSED Wednesday, February 12 due to inclement weather. Campus will be closed to students, faculty, and staff.

Webster County Schools - classes cancelled Thursday, Feb. 13.

Wynnbrook Christian School - will have a 2 hour delay. Students report at 10. Teachers report by 9:45.

Opelika, City of - Delayed opening of all city buildings until 10 a.m.

Smiths Station Baptist Church - all services cancelled Wednesday

Social Security Office - opens at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, and will close at 3 p.m.


Callaway Gardens (Pine Mountain, Ga.) - Due to impending winter weather, Callaway Gardens is taking a safety-first approach and will be closing the Gardens, its attractions and recreational offerings for guest access on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014. A decision about Thursday's operations will be made on Wednesday afternoon. As power and weather permits, a limited number of onsite restaurants will be open to serve guests.For restaurant hours of operation, to make a reservation, to reach an in-house guest or other general information, please call (706) 663-2281.

Calvary Baptist Church (Columbus, Ga.) - will not have church services or other activities Wednesday night due to the weather.

Chattahoochee Valley Libraries - TWO HOUR DELAY opening at noon on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Columbus Water Works - opens at 10 a.m. Thursday Feb. 13

Cooper Lighting (Americus, Ga.) - DELAYED OPENING at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Fort Benning - Emergency Personnel Unit Training Coordinators - Start normal time at 8p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.

Imcom and Garrison Personnel -  2 hour delay reporting for duty at 10a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.

Medcom Personnel - 3 hour delay reporting for duty at 11a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.

TRAYDOC, NAF Personnel, Tenant Units - 4 hour delay Thursday, Feb. 13.

All Fort Benning schools closed Thursday, Feb. 13.

Freudenberg-Nok (LaGrange, Ga.) - CLOSING at 7 a.m. Wednesday, reopens at 3 p.m. Thursday

Georgia Department of Labor Columbus and LaGrange Centers - Delayed open from noon until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13. Operating schedules are subject to change because of developing weather conditions. The public is encouraged to monitor the GDOL web site for schedule updates.

Hogansville Municipal Court (Hogansville, Ga.) - canceled Wednesday

Interface (LaGrange, Ga.) - will stop all operations starting with first shift Wednesday Feb. 12, and will tentatively start up Thursday morning at 10 a.m. Weather conditions will be monitored closely throughout the night and they may shut down earlier if necessary. This schedule may be updated Thursday morning if conditions do not improve as expected. Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. - Second shift production will end at 5 p.m., third shift production canceled for Wednesday, Feb. 12. First shift production scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13. Administration also to report by 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Kia Cafe will not operate as usual during first shift on Thursday. Team members should call 706-902-7777 and select option 3 for schedule updates.

Martin Army Community Hospital - Anyone with appointments before 11:00 a.m. Thursday is asked to call and reschedule. Employees report to work at 11:00 a.m.

Morningside Baptist Church (Columbus, Ga.) - all Wednesday night activities have been canceled.

Muscogee County DFCS - will open at 10 a.m.

Social Security Office - opens at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, and will close at 3 p.m.

Starbucks (All 3 Columbus locations) - Closing at 8 p.m. Wednesday, opening at 8 a.m. Thursday.

Troup County Government Offices - Open Wednesday. Delayed opening at 10 a.m. Thursday.

VA Columbus Outpatient Clinic - DELAYED OPEN at 10 a.m. Thursday.

West Central Helath District - The following health departments will be CLOSED on Thursday, Feb. 13: Chattahoochee, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee (Columbus), Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor, and Webster.

Clay, Randolph, and Quitman county health departments are planning to stay OPEN on Thursday, Feb. 13 and will provide services as usual.

All county health departments in the West Central Health District will reopen for business on Friday, Feb. 14.
