ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

The winter storm is starting to take down trees and wires in Orangeburg County. Sleet and freezing rain have been falling on the county since early Wednesday morning.

Orangeburg County Fire Services Director Gene Ball tells WIS he is starting to get reports of trees bending and breaking because of ice. Some power lines have been taken down.

Ball says ice is mostly on the grassy areas and trees.

He encouraged people to stay home and avoid travel.
