Thursday Winter Weather Closings and Delays

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - As a second wave of winter storm activity is expected to move across the area Thursday, schools, government offices, and other locations and events announced the following closures, cancellations and delays.

SCHOOL CLOSURES for Thursday, February 13:

- Bridgewater Academy Charter School will be closed on Thursday February 13, 2014. The Board of Directors will meet on Thursday February 13, 2014 at 6 p.m. as previously scheduled.

- Coastal Carolina University will resume normal operations Thursday, Feb. 13. All faculty and staff will report to work, and students will report to classes at normal times.

Liberal use of leave time will be authorized for faculty and staff who are concerned about safe travel. Students who are concerned about safe travel should not come to campus, but will be required to make up classes.

- Coker College will be closed Thursday, February 13 due to inclement weather. All classes have been canceled, including all ALPHA off-site locations. The college's dining services will remain open.

- Darlington County School District schools and district offices will be CLOSED Thursday, February 13 due to inclement weather.

- Dillon School District 3 has canceled school for Thursday, February 13.

- On Thursday, February 13, 2014 there will be no school or school activities for Dillon School District 4.

- Florence Christian School and Childcare will be closed on Thursday.

- All Florence County School District 1 schools and offices will be closed on Thursday, February 13th.

- Florence County School District 2 will be closed Thursday, February 13, 2014 due to the inclement weather and the imminent danger of snow/sleet/freezing rain and power outages.

- Florence County School District 3 will be closed for students and employees on Thursday, February 13.

- Florence School District 4 schools and offices will be closed Thursday, February 13, 2014. All after school activities and events will be canceled.

- Florence County School District 5 (Johnsonville) will be closed on Thursday.

- Florence-Darlington Technical College closed Thursday February 13.

-Gateway Academy Surfside and Myrtle Beach locations will be operating on their regular schedule from 6:30am-6:30pm.  

- Due to continued icing, fallen trees blocking roads, and power outages in parts of the county, there will be no school in Georgetown County School District for students on Thursday, February 13. All 220- and 240-day employees should report to work by 10 a.m. if conditions allow.

- All Horry County public schools will be closed tomorrow (Thurs. Feb. 13, 2014). All 12 month district/school employees are asked to report to work as conditions allow at their normal contracted times.

- All three campuses of Horry Georgetown Technical College will open at 9:30 a.m., Thurs., Feb. 13.

-All Limestone College Extended Campus locations will be CLOSED for evening classes on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014.  Those locations include: Florence, Kingstree, Columbia, Charleston, Aiken, Gaffney, Greer, and Yemassee.

- Marion County Schools will be closed to all staff and students on Thursday, February 13.

- Miller-Motte Technical College will open for classes at 10:30am Thursday, Feb. 13. Faculty and staff report at 10 am.

- Northeastern Technical College in Cheraw, Dillon and Bennettsville will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 13 due to inclement weather. All day and evening classes scheduled for Thursday are also canceled.

- Ocean View Baptist Teaching Learning Center will be closed on Thursday, February 13.

- St. Michael Catholic School in Murrells Inlet will be closed on Thursday, February 13.

- Strand College of Hair Design will open at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

- Thomas Hart Academy (Hartsville) will be closed Thursday, February 13th. After school childcare program will be closed. All Thursday activities are canceled.

- Virginia College in Florence - Due to inclement weather the Campus will be closed on Thursday 2/13/14 for all students, staff and faculty.

OTHER CLOSINGS:

City of Darlington offices will remained closed on Thursday, February 13, due to the inclement weather. Garbage collection will resume Friday at the earliest depending on road conditions and continue on Saturday as needed. Recycling pick-up will continue as normal on Friday.

-All Darlington County Offices will be closed, Thursday Feb 13. A decision on Friday will made tomorrow afternoon.

-The Florence Family YMCA will be closed Thursday, Feb. 13 due to severe weather.

-Honda of South Carolina is canceling production operations for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd shift on Thursday, February 13,2014. This includes all Associates, No Associates should report to work. Friday, February 14, 2014 all normal production schedules will resume.

-The staff of Horry County Disabilities and Special Needs' Conway ADC/Admin. Office, Service Coordination, Early Intervention; Loris ADC and the New Horizons HASCI Center are to report to work at 10:30 a.m. or when you can do so safely on Thursday, Feb. 13. Regular program hours will resume on Friday, Feb. 14.

-All Horry County offices and facilities will open on a 2- hour delay today (Thursday, February 13). The offices will open at 10 a.m.

-The Loris Center for Health & Fitness Blood Drive for Thursday is canceled.

-Marion County government offices will be closed on tomorrow, Thursday, February 13, 2014 for all non-essential employees.

-The McLeod Health and Fitness Center is closed Thursday due to loss of electrical power.

    CHATTAHOOCHEE CO., GA (WTVM) - The Chattahoochee County Water Department has issued a "boil water" notice in the "Old City Limits" area. The advisory was issued due to a system disruption Sunday. County officials say the water system is back up, however, the advisory must remain in effect as part of protocol. No other issues with the water system is expected.
