CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 13, because of the winter storm in the Southeast.

The district has designated the day as Code C, meaning only designated essential personnel will report to work if they are able to travel safely.

CMS staff members are working with city and county leaders to receive the most up-to-date information about road and weather conditions.

The district also announced that April 14, the first day of spring break, will be the make-up day for students and schools on the traditional calendar.

The After-School Enrichment Program (ASEP) will also be closed Feb. 13. All after-school, Community Use of Schools and athletic activities are canceled.

Project LIFT schools on the Continuous Learning Calendar will make up days on a separate schedule. The make-up day for Bruns Academy and Walter G. Byers is April 14.

The make-up day for Druid Hills Academy and Thomasboro Academy is April 15.  Druid Hills and Thomasboro Academy will attend school on April 14 for the day missed on Jan. 30.
