Wounded Warrior Walk honoring Cpl. Joshua Hargis to end in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A Wounded Warrior trek across Georgia will end here in Columbus.

The Warrior's Walk is in honor of Corporal Joshua Hargis, whose salute from his hospital bed went viral last year.

Beginning Monday Feb. 17, dozens of friends and family will be walking the back roads from Fort Stewart to Fort Benning.

The 222-mile walk will end at the National Infantry Museum on March 4.

Cpl. Hargis, who is undergoing physical therapy, is expected to take part in the last few miles of the walk with the help of a custom-built hand-powered cycle.
