BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A Saucier man is behind bars after police say he led them on a chase Thursday afternoon before crashing his car and running into the woods to hide.

Christopher David Brock, 35, was driving a 1991 Nissan 300Z on I-10 near Cedar Lake Road when he first caught the attention of police. They said he was traveling in a reckless manner, which became even worse when officers tried to pull him over.

Officers said he sped up and passed other cars on the shoulder of the road, then turned on to Highway 605. Brock finally lost control of the car near Three Rivers Road, and ran into the woods. He was later apprehended by a K-9.

A woman in the vehicle did not run and was taken into custody.

Brock was taken to the Biloxi Police Department where he was charged with Felony Eluding. He was being held on a $50,000 bond. Brock was also found to be on probation, so he's being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
