BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A 35-year-old Saucier man is in jail on a $50,000 bond. Christopher David Brock was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after leading Biloxi police on a high speed chase.

It started on Interstate 10, and ended on Three Rivers Road.

"When he attempted to turn north on Three Rivers Road, he lost control of the vehicle, putting it in a ditch behind us, leaving a female in the car," said Captain Bruce L. Johnson.

Authorities said Brock ran into the woods, and the lady he left behind was uncooperative with police and taken into custody. Unfortunately for Brock, Biloxi police officers were out in full force. After several off duty officers left a training session nearby, they joined the search.

"They just happened to hear the pursuit come out, and a lot of them were on their way out. A lot of them live up in this area and they just happened to be in the area to help us out. Once we can get a perimeter and get them boxed in, the dog is going to find them," said Sgt. Arnie Palmer.

Sure enough, the 10-year-old Belgian Malinois, named Diesel, was able to find Brock and help police make an arrest.

"Generally, if we can't see the suspect, like I could not see him because he was buried in such thick underbrush, when the dog does apprehend them they will scream or make some type of noise to give their position up to us," said Palmer.

Although Diesel played a huge part in the capture, it was a joint effort with the increased man power and incredible team work that helped get this suspect off the streets.

According to Captain Johnson with Biloxi Police Department, Brock is part of a local chapter of the Bandido Biker Gang. He was booked for felony eluding.
